Discouraged and Downtrodden . . .

I have fluctuated between the same five pounds for over a year now.
Sometimes I'm 288.
Sometimes I'm 290.
Sometimes I'm 292.
If I were to ever see another number I'd be a happy girl.
Today was not that day.
Everyone - my husband, my friends, my family, even total strangers - tell me to not get discouraged. It takes time to lose weight.
But how can I do what I did this week and
I am so discouraged right now, and I really feel like I am dealing with this alone, because I really don't think anyone understands.
I know that God has created me the way He wants me to be, but surly He doesn't want me to be
290 lbs
I am praying for strength and guidance.
i just don't know what to do anymore.

Jen, I feel your frustration completely. Only since I started WW have I truly seen results that don't go back and forth. Some weeks I don't lose much, but only one out of the 14 weeks I've been doing this have I gained, and it was just one pound. Then, this week, I lost 4.4. I would be more than happy to share whatever info I have with you on the POINTS system with WW. I must say, it made a believer out of me. I never thought of WW as anything but a "fad diet" in the past. But it is truly the healthiest and most effective method there is. There are plenty of ladies (and MEN!) in my meetings on Wednesdays and they have already hit "Lifetime" but continue to go to meetings and live the same lifestyle -- and KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF. You can do it, Jennifer. I know you can.

Take your time. Find something that works for you. Ask for help when you need it. I've tried WW, Nutrisystem, just trying to change on my own, Advocare, LA Weightloss, WW again, Nutrisystem again, trying things on my own again, Shakeology, 8 Zone, and other programs/supplements I can't even think of right now.

I would always stop because of my addiction to food, my emotional eating, and/or money issues - but mainly just the addiction & emotional eating.

I started using an addiction recovery workbook that my church has, which has helped tremendously (when I open it & read it & do the exercises).

A few months ago, I found out about Bios Life Slim. It has changed my life. I never liked WW b/c I didn't like to weigh & measure things & count points. I didn't like Nutrisystem in the long run b/c I hated eating things different from my family. Again, it also boiled down to the addiction & emotional eating.

Since starting to use Slim, I've been able to break the addiction to food & have completely stopped emotionally eating. I've lost 16.4 lbs & 26 inches in 12 weeks now. I have friends who have even more dramatic results too. I don't care that mine is a little slower than others b/c I know this is working for me.

Slim has been clinically proven to help lower cholesterol, regulate blood sugar levels & help you lose fat (inches) & weight (which is also why I've lost more inches than weight so far). It is in the 2010 Physicians' Desk Reference & is recommended by many physicians.

You can find a quick overview with an audio recording & award-winning video about how Slim works in your body at

You can find my story, more info on Slim (including clinical trial info), and other testimonials & videos at my blog

Whether you end up interested in Bios Life Slim or not, I truly wish you success in your journey! I know how hard it can be. I've tried plenty of things in the past. Find whatever works for you in order to change your life. For me that thing was Bios Life Slim, but for you it may be something else. When you discover what works, stick to it & you'll get to your goal!

Courtney - I was on WW for almost a year. I lost maybe two pounds following the points system RELIGIOUSLY. That's what's so frustrating - the things that I've tried I've stuck with and they still don't do anything.

Michelle - I've never heard of Slim - I'll have to check that out.

Thanks y'all!

Oh, I so know how you feel. Check out my blog

Up and down, it's so frustrating. In my case, I must admit, I have been eating way too much. I find when I'm having this kind of problem I start weighing and measuring what I eat and then I realize - oh, oh, I have been letting those portion sizes sneak up. Good luck. You can do it.
